The value for money at this lodge was great, with well-set up and spacious rooms. I really enjoyed the outdoor tables and benches. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the bay and a pleasant stroll into town. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
Food for breakfast could be improved with a wider selection of options.

shower was good computer in leisure room worked, but little expensive... staff helpful in working the TV-DVD...
I understood that in taking my credit card info and stating it would be DR'd for 'x' amount, that indeed it had been done. Only to turn up at hotel and they want to charge me AGAIN for what I had just paid!! Please make it clearer, to dummies like myself, that when I book IT IS NOT PAYMENT for the stay, and I will be charged directly by the motel.

Friendly host, comfortable room with ensuite for 4 beds. Convenient location for beach, bars, and restaurants. Excellent shared kitchen facilities. Close to everything, flexible with options, and even allowed parking after check-out. Complete amenities, including a small reading area and laundry services. Will definitely return.

The host was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The shared kitchen facilities were excellent.
The bathroom was too small, I couldn't even swing a cat in there. The WiFi barely worked, especially towards the end of the building.

Adventurous Encounters: I recently embarked on an aquatic adventure around the Bay of Islands. The experience was like diving into a real-life "Flipper" movie, leaving me feeling like a real-life marine explorer.
Limited cabin storage.

This hostel is perfectly located by the beach, offering picnic tables for socializing and enjoying a meal with stunning views. It is also conveniently close to town bars, restaurants, the Treaty Grounds, and ferry terminals. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant stay. Guests can relax on the little balcony outside, and the hostel is fairly quiet most of the time. The hostel also provides clean bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking.
The kitchen can get crowded when big groups stay, making it difficult to access and cook.

The rooms at Bay Of Islands Lodge are cozy and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The free WiFi was a big plus for me, as I could stay connected and share my amazing experiences with my friends and family. The private en suite bathroom in the private room was a great convenience, ensuring privacy and comfort during my stay.
Personally, I found the shared bathroom and toilet facilities in the dormitory rooms to be a slight inconvenience. However, I understand that some guests may still appreciate the more social aspect of such accommodations.

Great location, close to all the attractions and activities. The owners were friendly and accommodating. , the price was reasonable for the area.
The room was quite hot during the summer and there was no electric fan available. The cleanliness could be improved, as the shower was dirty and the room was dusty.

The location of the lodge was excellent, with easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. The on-site parking was convenient and saved me the hassle of finding a spot. The staff were friendly and helpful, assisting with arrangements for activities and tours in the area. Another advantage was the well-equipped kitchen, with plenty of cooking areas and storage space for groceries.
The room I stayed in was quite small and outdated, although it was clean. The bathroom was not adequately equipped, with a tiny vanity and a mirror in an inconvenient position.
